CONSTITUTION & PLAYING RULES ABOUT CONTACTS
The Ontario Women’s Baseball League (formerly the COGBL) is the longest continuous all female baseball league in existence in Canada. It was formed in 1996 to provide an opportunity for girls in the central Ontario area to play competitive baseball against other all-girl teams. It has offered baseball for age levels from Peewee to Women’s divisions. Teams from all over the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), have played in one division or another from as far east as Ajax to as far west as Kitchener and Burlington and north to Barrie.
Currently the OWBL has a Women’s division but we would be able to help girls in lower age level divisions connect with coed or girls teams in their area. The OWBL is constantly looking for the addition of new teams so if you have a women’s team, or are a female baseball player, located anywhere in Ontario, please contact us at info@ontariowomensbaseball.com
Players from the OWBL have participated, provincially, nationally, and internationally on Team Canada. Member club teams have travelled to many parts of the United States including San Diego, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Indiana, Orlando and Chicago to participate in tournaments.
The league welcomes interest from any female team or individuals, who wish to participate.
Mission Statement
To create a team experience for girls/women that build fitness, skills, confidence, camaraderie, and true sportsmanship through the playing of baseball.
We are students and fans of the game.
WE ARE BALLPLAYERS
What are the age requirements to play in this league?
Right now in the women’s league our youngest player is 15 years old. We don’t have an upper age limit.
I see that the OBA’s are this weekend hosted by Royal York. What is the schedule. I would like to take in a game if possible.
The OBA’s were actually cancelled this weekend due to lack of team entry. We were planning on having a day of fun play of mixed teams from players in the OWBL but our field got rained out in the storm last week.
Im very interested in playing. Ive been play with west hill baseball league for 7 year, coming up on 8 years, but at this point in time I really want to bring my full potential becauseim ususually the only girl on my team .
This looks awesome! If you ever have any teams forming out near London, please let us know! I’m sure my daughter would be interested in joining.
